Artist Statement: My artwork deals with the scale and awe of nature but the overhanging meaninglessness of it all. Having to deal with finding meaning to it all, I point my eyes to nature and get lost in it. There has to be meaning and purpose to all of this.
My process is simple: I begin with a pencil and begin making anything. Whatever thing I draw that I find the most appealing I take it and begin the next process. I now use a pen and permanent tools to begin the final draft. Nothing that grandiose.
Inspiration is from the album: “The Glow” pt. 2 by the Microphones. It deals with a lot of the same themes that I am working with, albeit with a different approach and purpose. Without this album, I would not be doing what I am doing. Big props to them.
