Description: I  was inspired to take this series of photos because I wanted to capture the sense of nostalgia I feel for my childhood summers. Sunsets and temporary fairgrounds. Hot days that turn into cold nights then cool mornings, bringing a breath of fresh air and a layer of mist before the day turns hot and unforgiving.

Artist Statement: My artistic process is more spontaneous than planned. I often take many pictures in the same location day after day to try to capture how quickly a place can change. I look for elements in the world around me that stand out: whether they are obviously unique, like vibrant colors or repetitive patterns, or more subtly unique, like a moment in time.
I enjoy using a camera to capture the world around me because the photos I take are a physical reminder that every moment is its own, temporary with only memories left behind. Taking the photo solidifies the moment and the memory so I have the ability to share it with others whenever I want.
