Artist Statement: Amira was created with the Japanese pastel decora/fairy kei subcultures in mind. The maximalist nature and soft colors of these aesthetics drew me in and challenged me by equal parts; I tested my own fondness for meticulously detailing small accessories, and aimed to portray the fashion on a body type all too absent from alternative fashion scenes.
