Artist Statement: Throughout my years in elementary school and early high school, I was still discovering who I was. Junior year was the year I did most of this self-discovery work.

Being stuck at home meant I had extra free time. While surfing through an old sketchbook, I had an epiphany. I wanted to go back to my younger years and rediscover art, so I signed myself up for beginners sketching. The simple beginners sketching course turned out to be a nude figure drawing class. Initially, I felt overwhelmingly apprehensive about the idea of drawing naked people. Ironically, I believe this class became the keystone to discovering that art is my passion and it helped me to mature as a young woman.

In the past few months, I have been working on new mediums like oil painting and charcoal. The four pieces I submitting are the favorites from senior year.
