Artist Statement: For this artwork, I wanted to create a sculpture in which I used different geometric figures to create a group. I wanted to use one type of figure each in my sculpture, mainly to keep it more asymmetrical. I would create my own templates for the shapes and put them today myself in order to create the figures I used.
Before working on this sculpture, I first did some investigations on David Smith where I gained inspiration for my project. I then moved onto creating the templates for the figures and cutting them out. I would glue the flaps together in order to make them 3D. I then decided how I wanted to stack them together. Once satisfied, I permanently glued them down. In order to share my work, I took multiple pictures so be sure to get one I was happy with.
I believe that the most successful part of my project was the creation of geometric figures. The measurements of the templates turned out to be almost perfectly even, allowing the figures to
