Artist Statement: My artwork ‘Helianthus’ was inspired by a song. I used chalk pastel and paper. I used the colors of a sunset for the background; most can be seen as complementary. Since the flowers are in a wide field it helps express the wildness of creativity. I use a complementary palette of yellow, green, red, blue, pink, purple, violet, brown, white, and orange. I used different shades and movements. My piece gives the texture of a chalk material
