Artist Statement: I’ve called two places home: Chicago, where I was born and raised, and Wisconsin, where I’ve spent all my summers and parts of my winters. Although they are close geographically, they have different feelings. I’ve started to wonder things like, What makes them different? Why do so many Chicagoans go to Wisconsin? And how has growing up in both places affected me. Wisconsin is where I’m the happiest, enjoying the outdoors, freedom, and countless memories that have been made over the years. Throughout my work, I capture the different hobbies and interests in both places that make me who I am.
