Artist Statement: The overarching theme of my artwork is the unpredictability and brutality of war which can be seen in many of my works. Throughout my life I have always been captivated by war, the vehicles, troops and ranking systems; it all just fascinated me. My grandfather fought in the Vietnam war and told me stories of the long sleepless nights in the thick brush of Vietnam. His stories only strengthened my fascination but also made me realize how cruel it actually was. His stories seemed heroic but in reality he wanted nothing more than to be home safe with his family.
