Description: Based on Chicago scenery and previous artworks I painted, I created a cyberpunk-like city composed of irregular shapes and plain colors. The perspective of this work places you on a bridge to show how it is crucial to pause and take a moment to appreciate the beauty around us. Life is always changing, so enjoy it. I unified this piece by using similar colors that mimicked a sunset, such as purple, pink, and red. I also depicted how hip-hop culture is ingrained in urbanism through the image of the flame graffiti.
Artist Statement: My objective is to present the viewer with artwork that reflects individuality and what it means to leave your mark. Arranged to portray the significance of street art in everyday life, these artworks highlight street art’s ability to send a message.
