Artist Statement: When I think of home, the first idea I think of is my mother. Home is your safe place, where you are meant to feel the most comfortable. When I was young, my mother was my ideal sense of home. So in my artwork, I decided to recreate and paint some items that remind me of my mother, because when I look at these, it reminds me of that home and peace. To make this painting, I used different media such as acrylic paint, watercolor paint, colored pencils, canvas material, and watercolor paper, to try and capture different textures so the items I painted would pop out more to the viewer. I enjoy using different media when it comes to my art because it gives me more to work with, and I like utilizing what I already have to make art that I am proud of.
