Artist Statement: My goal with my artwork is to explore texture using mediums like oil pastels and texture heavy acrylic paint. My subjects in my art is usually animals and nature, these two things make me feel at peace. My art is my escape from the negativity and stressors of life. I go into a trance for hours to create something I know I’ll be proud of. Animals and flowers inspire me because of the purpose each living thing serves in life. Animals usually live for simply one purpose, while human beings sometimes struggle to find theirs. There’s a beauty in that that I can’t quite explain.
