Artist Statement:
I made this artwork to spread awareness of mental health struggles around the world. Many individuals suffer from a plethora of mental health problems and feel as though they cannot speak out about it, and don’t have the strength to do so. They also may be under conditions in which they are prohibited from discussing such things. I am here to express their pain and their calling for help in times of need. I tend to use materials such as ink or charcoal. As well as keeping my work very monochromatic with emphasis on one particular aspect of the work made. As someone who’s experienced such things myself, I am able to relate to those I represent within my artwork.
