Artist Statement: Due to Chance the Rapper’s song Blessings reprise, this artwork was created to represent the musician. I choose this song because, frequently, people live their lives too quickly and fail to stop and appreciate their religion, their origins, and the beauty of life. Chance the Rapper has had a significant impact on my life as a result of his support for Chicago Public Schools and his influence over the city’s youth. Chance founded a number of organizations, including Social Works, to support Chicago Public Schools. Social work supports arts education in public schools to encourage the next generation of artistes. Blessings is a song that teaches us to be grateful, keep in mind where we’ve come from, and how to “smile good.”
