Description: The theme for our black history month assembly was “And Still I Rise” based on the poem by Maya Angelou. We looked at the poem in class. 7th grade class split into groups and each chose a part of the poem to illustrate. All the kids worked so hard but I thought this poster was particularly beautiful and really captured the essence of the poem.
