Description: “Warli” painting is a form of monochromatic mural art created by the tribal people from the North Sahyadri Range in India since at least 10th century ACE. It is characterized by its simple geometric forms, such as circles, triangles, and lines, which primarily depicts daily life and traditions, and is considered an important cultural heritage of India due to its unique style and rich cultural significance.

The painting portrays the “Vitthal Rukmini vaari” which is an important cultural and religious practice involving a large number of devotees participation every year which has a significant impact on the social fabric of India. The practice is believed to promote social harmony and unity among the people and is recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The Vitthal Rukmini vaari tradition is a devotional practice of singing bhajans (devotional songs) and walking in a procession, in honor of the Hindu deity Vitthal and Rukmini, popular in Maharashtra state,
