Artist Statement: A 6 photograph series, inspired by, “The Kitchen Table Series” by Carrie Mae Weems. Each photograph captures the joys in the journey of my life: food, keepsakes, nature and friendships. The top row depicts pictures of nature while the bottom row depicts keepsakes and friendship. The red ribbon overlapping and touching each picture is intentional as it connects each of my joys together. The purple and blue translucent fabric represents my joy colors transforming into curtains protecting my joys.
