Artist Statement: What I created here is a pencil drawing of myself using techniques practiced before the final piece. I had the goal to create a perfect self-portrait drawing of myself with only a pencil to shade in the parts to make it look more realistic. Some of the main issues present when creating this piece were trying to define my facial parts or shade the parts that would change how real it looks like the eyes. I didn’t know if to shade it really dark or lighter and the hair because I wasn’t sure how to fill it in. Something That could have been done to make the self-portrait improve is to include more personal feelings in my drawing. I should have thought about who I wanted to be or how I want to look by finding new perspectives and ideas.
