Artist Statement: This piece is my first piece of abstract art and it represents Mexico to me. My grandmother’s hometown of Tingüindín, Michoacán, Mexico now produces a lot of avocados. Avocados are an important food in my family, and we eat them often at celebrations. Guacamole is a mixture and I’m a mixture too because I am bi-racial Mexican and Irish. I treasure this.
