Description: This artwork is based on one of the many traditional folklorico dances that are performed in Mexico. The purpose was to show my journey with connecting with my culture and expanding my understanding of one of the many Mexican arts. This piece is an abstract self-portrait with the blue acrylic paint on the left representing myself in my vestuario (clothing) from the state of Veracruz as momentum to one of the first dances I have performed.
