Description: This piece is a bandanna that I created in respect to the major fashion houses. I have grown up and seen all of my favorite people wearing beautiful scarves from brands such as Gucci, Prada, and Dior. I felt like I would’t be able to begin my portfolio without this medium of work.
Artist Statement: My work revolves around the designs I create for my brand Afloat, the brand’s identity is simple designs revolving around our logo, with different vibrant colors. My brand makes streetwear clothes, basically shirts and hoodies, however I am looking into creating new sophisticated pieces that go beyond just streetwear. I want to begin to include my Italian heritage in my brand. I learned that original Italian fashion was hats, scarves, as well as sunglasses. I decided to take these different mediums and recreate them through the vision of Afloat, in my sustained investigation, as well as in my upcoming releases. As of now my focus has been working on scarves, I have created a bandanna/babushka scarf as well as a classic winter scarf. I plan to continue working on luxe items such as scarves, while including a focus of my brand.
