Artist Statement: Inspired by the movie “Rio” which, interestingly, was about saving a bird that was rare and on the brink of extinction.I enjoyed using the pastels because of the way the oil pastels blend together. My oil pastel drawing is telling the story of the Blue Macaw on their path of extinction.
