Artist Statement: The ‘Ball’ was taken in my backyard, I wanted to have the basketball out of focus and the rim being the center of it and focused. To make it, I held a ball to the side of the camera, so it would be seen, but it wouldn’t take up the whole picture. I wanted to show the rim fully, but in a tilted angle. With some editing, I could darken the ball, make the sky bluer, and create a brighter picture overall. I picked these specific items because I have a lot of great memories in the backyard and wanted to showcase some of my favorite things to do there.
