Artist Statement: The purpose of my assemblage “How Many More?” is to pose a haunting question by creating a sculpture of a gun with elementary school supplies. This piece is intended to shock those who see it and make them question how many more children’s lives will be lost before real change is made. I hope that people will reflect on how much still needs to be done to stop school shootings and will lead them to want change. I created this sculpture to bring up an uncomfortable topic that needs to be addressed.
