Artist Statement: Every Chinese New year, my mom gives me a tangerine representing luck and success. I have a habit of keeping them in my room ever since I moved into our own house. I chose to use charcoal and graphite, even though Chinese New year is very bright and red, because I wanted the tradition and drawing to contrast.
