Artist Statement: My work stems from my identity as a queer Asian American and as well as being religious. I reveal my anxieties and frustration about how I try to embody both identities through my art. A lot of my work is also inspired by nature, the crevices and details, the inner muscles, veins, and cells of plant and animal life resembles and reminds me of humans; I combine the likeness of animal and human life. Working with watercolor and colored pencils allows me to get my ideas down right away and lets me be loose and controlled with the way I work.
