Artist Statement: This art piece was inspired by the song “Brown Skin Girl” by Beyonce. The song is about how African American girls are gorgeous no matter what shade we are and how we should be proud of it. I added the eye to represent spirituality and the Third eye Chakra which means you are awakened to your magic.
