Artist Statement: My artistic process usually starts from a sketch and a few color combinations I enjoy to look at. I never have a solid plan, and add details as I continue the piece. In shorter words, I improvise to fit the piece’s needs. My go-to program is Adobe Photoshop. I love experimenting with different brushes and playing around with many, many layers.
As an aspiring graphic designer, I hope to create work that successfully and efficiently communicates my ideas. I find it harder to express how I feel through words, so I usually communicate them through carefully crafted pieces. Personally, I find my own art is visually pleasing to the eyes, but my pieces have more emotional motivation behind them. I draw motivation from my identity, as a Chinese and Taiwanese American artist, and who I am outside of my flesh and bones.
