Artist Statement: I painted “A Saturday Drive” in 2017 after my dog Thor died. I wanted to capture the feeling of joy that our pets bring us in our everyday lives. The dog in the painting can represent anyone’s loyal companion; a true friend who will stick with us through thick and thin and is happy to accompany us on life’s journey. Even a mundane activity, such as a Saturday drive, can become a cherished moment, just because we are experiencing it together.
