Artist Statement:
I learned that Bettye Saar was a creative African American artist who makes sculptures and adds antiques to her art! I am showing a stereotype of “unequal”. Although we are equal we may not be treated the same! I added my hand print with a lot of words that describe me. I drew eyes to show my original eyes and 2 skylines with a drawn heart that represents love and peace. It tells you that I’m loving, loved, creative and equal to others but different still.
