Artist Statement: As a Mexican American visual artist, I’ve always wanted to express my art to spread awareness, I have always believed our youth’s mental health hasn’t been paid attention too, as someone who has an anxiety disorder and MDD it took 4 years to finally get therapy. I made my Concentration “the butterfly club” about mental health so that everyone knows that there’s still hope and they aren’t alone, because I used to feel alone. I plan to make “the butterfly club”an actual published comic.
