Artist Statement: These particular color studies were painted over the last Summer, and are part of an ongoing series of portraits done in oils on unprimed canvas. These are the faces of both friends and strangers. The colors are inspired by the moment, painted loosely to give shape to the fallibility of memory; both with a weighty emphasis on certain aspects as well as a feeling of unravelling at the edges.
