Grade: 12

Materials: Ebru paint and water mixture on paper
Dimensions: 16 x 20 inches
Description: This is a type of Turkish art where you paint on the water! It is more commonly known as water marbling! I was able to create the rose by dripping dots of paint onto the background and using the needle-shaped tool to shape the paint circles.

Artist Statement: Every day I wake up to the excitement of embarking on my next project. What projects am I talking about? Well, among other things I am an artist, and as an artist, I am always curious about the endless inspiration and possibilities that art provides. Yes I like to draw, yes I like to paint, but most importantly I like to create. Developing ideas in my head and bringing them to life with my hands brings me a sense of satisfaction with my inner creativity. I chose acrylic paint as one of my mediums because it allows for so many diverse outcomes. I can do unique acrylic pours, captivating landscape paintings, and simple yet beautiful abstract paintings all using one medium of acrylic paint. I also chose ebru paintings (water marbling) as my other medium because I fell in love with the idea of painting on water. It was such a unique way for me to express my self and I had never come across anything so complex and one-of-a-kind. In conclusion, each of my artworks is unique and represents a piece of my creativity that I have developed over the years.
