Artist Statement: The piece is split into two parts, on the right there are stickers of girls in bright colors. To the left a girl crouching and hugging her legs as hurtful words surround her. Social media shows a world of fashion, filters, edited pictures and diets. This can be hurtful to a young girl’s self esteem, social media is seen as all perfect hence the bright colors but hurtful words from others can cause negative effects on young girl’s minds. This piece shows how harmful and detrimental words can be.
