Artist Statement: I am from Chicago Illinois and grew up in Back of the Yard neighborhood. I enjoy making art because it helps me stay calm and mentally active. I am sharing my two favorite art projects I created this year in my Artivism class. The La Loteria card and Inspirational Leaders are two pieces I composed and created in light of what is going on in our world and who inspires me. The materials I like to work with are markers and using markers as watercolor paints. I start with drawing my ideas first with a number 2 pencil and then add details with color. These two mediums are nice for me to use when making art.
