Artist Statement: By using the media of glass mosaic, I decided to use this element to criticize the human nature of fleeing from individual challenges, to show the strength humans have to persevere. The symbol of the hand in the form of a fist represents the power everyone possesses if they are willing to use it to push through their challenges. The broken glass surrounding the hand represents the shackles that hold everyone from accomplishing their goals.
