Artist Statement: Nemesis is the goddess of justice and revenge. She is in charge of maintaining equilibrium and balance of the world. Our society is filled with discrimination, inequality, poverty, and bias. Sometimes justice is served, but many times it is not. If Nemesis were real, she must have done a poor job or have been blindfolded the whole time, because her balance is not balanced.
I made the piece to express my disappointment in humanity. I want to tell my audience that the world is not a fair place. It is on us to stop Nemesis’ balance from tilting and make the world where we want to live.
