Artist Statement:

A picture, a frame, that shows my struggle of expressing my feelings and mainly, my imagination. Hence why its ripped, trying any way to get share my imagination. The stitch keeps my mouth closed, representing my struggle of trying to explain or share my ideas and overall, my thoughts and feelings.
The cloud patterning of the canvas represents vivid daydreaming, more visible on the top as my head is always in the clouds, loud, and brimming with ideas and more.
The gramophones represent the music I listen to, it represents how music can inspire me and itself help generate ideas and fuel my imagination. In turn, it’s mostly stories, Stories I want to share, which is why the gramophones ride atop the books filled with different genres, because music helps generate story ideas.
The piano represents the music and feelings I want to express, and that I play the piano as well. And the color represents my imagination, my way of expression, of trying to express and get my imagination out.
Lastly, the porcelain hands, broken and riggedy, represent my inexperience at the piano. How I wrestle to hit the right keys perfectly. Another struggle to get my ideas out how my head imagines it.
This whole portrait revolves around the idea of a person who struggles to share their imagination, their whole self, goals, ideas, and feelings however is restricted with obstacles, such as lack of skill and the exprience of being a nonsocial person. Me.
