Artist Statement:
Shot in a film noir style, Shadowed Smoke places emphasis on the artistry and grace of holding a cigarette. Shadows and light and reflections draw your eyes to the subject. The smoke is metaphorically “shadowed” in the photo by the holder’s mischievous actions, as well as literally shadowed by the dark surroundings.
