Teacher: Elizabeth Chisholm
Grade: 11
Materials: Watercolor paint, aluminum wire, preserved moss, hot glue, found objects (including: broken clock frame, watch, plastic pieces, glass stones, jewelry)
Dimensions: 12 x 12 x 14

Artist Statement:

This piece uses recycled materials and the setting of a mossy pond on a clock face to create a whimsical environment, which is explored by a curious robot. His collection of random objects suggests he’s exploring a world that could be post-apocalyptic or simply far into the future, where the actual purpose of the objects has lost all meaning. It symbolizes a hope for the future, that things can continue to grow and be found even long after we’re gone.
