Artist Statement: I got my first camera when I was 5, and since then I have been doing photography on and off for 10 years. Influenced by the film artist Terry Gilliam, I made a few stop motion films and had a lot of fun making them. I always enjoyed making and watching movies, so when I joined a photography class earlier this school year I decided to base my portfolio on film stills from a movie not yet made. Most of my inspiration for the photos in this collection came from the Coen Brothers, because I liked the menacing and absurd nature of their Neo-Noir films. I hope to capture some of those same feelings in my photographs.
