Artist Statement: This is a textile piece I created to express my brothers affect on my mental health on our first Christmas with divorced parents. My brother has always made me happy and so did Christmas except for that first year. I was devastated but for some reason my 2 year old brother knew something was wrong. He stood by me the whole time giving me hugs and kisses. He made our first Christmas manageable. That is why the Christmas background is fabric while my brother appears more realistic.
