Artist statement: My self-portraits display a story of what I go through being a person who deals with mental health challenges. Through my work, I’ve grown to learn self acceptance, independence and working with the different challenges that come with directing and creating art. I transform myself and create different characters through applying make-up. I often use small spaces in my house to perform my transformations. Having my camera, and my make-up on, helps me cope by creating a world that I can truly call home.
