Teacher Name: Gregory Steffens
Grade: 12
Materials: Drypoint print
Description: This is a print of a cabinet in my house that holds an array of unique objects. I chose to fill each shelf with meaningful rooms in my life relating to my memories. I applied black, red, yellow, and blue intaglio inks to the plate to achieve this slightly colorful effect showing how my memories have changed from their full vibrancy since they have been formed.
Artist Statement: The synthesis of skills in printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, and collage positions me to contribute functional art to the world, enriching the human experience. This synthesis goes beyond the technicalities, weaving a narrative of purposeful design that speaks to the interconnectedness of art and life, aiming to leave an enduring and meaningful impact on the world.
