Artist Statement: As a girl who once had difficulty using her imagination, I discovered a way to fabricate and weave my ideas using lines, pixels, fabric, and colors. I struggled with self-expression for many years, as I often viewed my beliefs and ideas as less than others. Afraid of failure and judgment, I subconsciously allowed outward influences to bleach my thoughts, suffocating and rejecting the potential of my mind. The imaginations of others molded my own, and it wasn’t until I decided to start my animation channel, took on drawing, began expressive painting, and started sewing that I shut out the self-sabotaging fears of what others thought and invited in the curiosity of my own. I aspire to help those struggling to find their imagination break out of the block and recognize their artistic potential through sharing my journey. Loving to learn and be open-minded, I am inclined toward using various art mediums to articulate who I am and what I wish to display. Somedays, my hands would reach for a tube of paint and a dusty canvas, ineffable emotions spreading across the blank, white box with faded colors and rough lines. Others, a sketchbook resting upon my lap with a pencil or yards of earthy fabric and a paper bag of sewing materials, warm my bed, waiting to be crafted. With confidence and much thought, I have just begun art commissions and my first steps toward sharing my art with others.
