The work I have submitted in my portfolio shows two different kinds of times that can occur in one’s life. Gaze Aglow shows a more serious time during one’s life, with lights representing all the emotions going on inside someone but being represented on the outside. They are on the outside because anyone can take a look at a person and think they are thinking a certain way while not knowing how they feel just based on their gaze or look in their face. Gaze Aglow was shot in a studio with Christmas lights, all-black clothing, and my iso set high for the effect of the light to pop out against all the black. Fyona showcases a time in one’s life in which their emotions positively surpass their surroundings. I shot this picture of a friend named Fyona, I wanted to take an image in a place in which most have negative or sad feelings like a cemetery where this was shot, and make the shot uplift the surroundings and show it in a positive light.
