Artist Statement: I feel that Asian children need to bring a perspective to all of the Asian attacks happening in this country. Many of the victims are too afraid to speak up, this is especially true for Asian children who are picked on daily in the playgrounds, in schools, and whenever they are out of their homes. This is a self portrait of me unmasking and revealing a bloody nose. This was my way to tell Asian children to stop hiding and to start voicing out against Asian hate. I created this piece in pencil and then added the blood and the hashtag copy digitally.
