Description: My inspiration for this piece initially came from my desire for warm weather and a tropical vacation. Tropical places with beaches and nature are the places I love being in the most, so whenever I am given the opportunity, I photograph it to remember it. I enjoy capturing sunsets in particular, mostly because no two are ever the same, so each is only a memory once it becomes dark. Since I am so passionate about taking photos, my process for this work began with selecting one of my vacation photos, and adding to it digitally with a zentangle. I enjoy creating artwork digitally (especially drawing) because there are endless artistic choices to make when it comes to working online. To me this work embodies a place of peace, where a mind can quiet down and relax.
