Artist Statement: The four figures represent the overwhelming feeling from being suicidal and being in a situation with no control. This piece was inspired by Camilia and Scott Hutchison’s use of the same figure shown multiple times. The red figure represents the trigger of the piece, which is me. The two almost transparent figures represent angels. Growing up, being told that I would go to hell because “I was gay” and “had no connection with God” has been engraved in my head even when I think otherwise.
