Artist Statement: The artwork that I’ve created so far is based on questions that I’ve tried to answer or represent through my drawings.The questions that are guiding me through my pieces so far are “ What are ways we try to falsify our happiness? How does feeling void affect us? Can happiness truly be bought?”. There are lots of people who when feeling broken or empty, rely on the things of this world to satisfy them. Only to come to the realization that the satisfaction lasts for a short period of time, and end up feeling emptier. Through my art I’d like to portray the way people try to find happiness, whether it be through money, through someone else or through anything in general. I want to show the struggle with trying to finally be happy but never being successful.
