Artist Statement: Within this artwork I used my own nose to represent my biggest insecurity. Often feeling like the only way to feel happy about my nose is through Rhinoplasty or some alteration, I wanted to take a step into fighting that mentality. I used yellow in order to create an analogous color scheme within the artworks that surround the blue portrait in order to emphasize confidence and acceptance. The monarch butterfly is a symbol of resilience and strength needed to embark the journey of acceptance.
